Overview
The Certificate has been designed to cater for practitioners and experienced teachers who want to undertake further study in Applied Linguistics. This certificate will extend your theoretical and practical knowledge of language and curriculum design and methodologies for language education. You will be able to explore the increasing use of English as a medium of instruction across all levels of education, and the worldwide demand for English proficiency in the globalising workplace.
There are two specialisations available:
- General Applied Linguistics
- Language for Specific Purposes (LSP)

Entry requirements
Bachelor degree or equivalent.
A minimum of one year or equivalent relevant professional or language teaching experience depending on the specialisation.
You will also be required to submit proof of work experience in the form of a letter, on your employer's letterhead, stating the length of time employed, whether full or part time, and the nature of duties as well as a completed Supplementary Form.
English language requirements
If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.

Work experience requirements

Notes:
Full credit may be carried forward into the Postgraduate Diploma of Applied Linguistics programs provided a minimum GPA of 3.0 has been attained.
