The Certificate has been designed to cater for practitioners and experienced teachers who want to undertake further study in Applied Linguistics. This certificate will extend your theoretical and practical knowledge of language and curriculum design and methodologies for language education. You will be able to explore the increasing use of English as a medium of instruction across all levels of education, and the worldwide demand for English proficiency in the globalising workplace.
This Generalist specialisation is designed to allow you to study a broad range of topics within the area of Applied Linguistics. You will cover theoretical and methodological issues relevant to practitioners in a variety of professions whose work is concerned with applied language study.

Entry requirements
Bachelor degree or equivalent.
A minimum of one year or equivalent relevant professional experience.
You will also be required to submit proof of work experience in the form of a letter, on your employer's letterhead, stating the length of time employed, whether full or part time, and the nature of duties as well as a completed Supplementary Form.
English language requirements
If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.

Work experience requirements

Notes:
Full credit may be carried forward into the Postgraduate Diploma of Applied Linguistics with a specialisation in General Applied Linguistics provided a minimum GPA of 3.0 has been attained.
