Overview

This degree will examine current theories and practice in organisational psychology, including workplace interventions, the psychological management of organisational change, training in organisations, workplace assessment, and the administration and analysis of psychological tests. This degree will help you develop as a scientist-practitioner and be able to make a substantial, advanced, and ongoing contribution to the application of psychological knowledge. The combination of coursework, field placements and a research thesis will help you to become well-grounded in theory and practice, and capable of moving across a range of organisational roles.

Suitable if you are a graduate of a Master of Organisational Psychology and wish to become a professionally accredited organisational psychologist. Also suitable if you are a psychology fourth year graduate.

Entry requirements

Completion of prerequisite units from the Master of Organisational Psychology or equivalent from another institution.

Admission will be competitive, and consideration will be given to:

  • performance in the prerequisite units
  • quality of your research proposal
  • doctoral referee's report from the academic who agrees to supervise your doctoral research
  • information supplied on a supplementary personal information sheet
  • interview performance

English language requirements

If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.

The Doctor of Organisational Psychology is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and approved by the Australian Psychological Society's College of Organisational Psychologists. You will be eligible to apply for registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia after completing your degree. Completion of the Doctor of Organisational Psychology leads to endorsement as an organisational psychologist in Australia.
