Overview

The Master of Applied Anthropology is a coursework degree with a research element designed for students who wish to gain a qualification in the area of applied anthropology, with a focus on social and cultural aspects of development and policy research.

This course helps students understand the impacts of and cultural influences in government and corporate policy. It covers 'traditional' applied anthropology as well as applications of cultural understanding in international relations, urban planning, design and marketing.

Those who wish to gain a graduate qualification in the area of applied anthropology, social aspects of development studies, consultancy and policy research with a specific focus on the local and community level.

The degree is most appropriate for students with a social science (or related subject) bacground and an interest in culture, society and contemporary development issues.

Entry requirements

The basic admission requirement for this program is a Bachelor degree with either a social science component or relevant work experience.

English language requirements

If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.
