Overview
The Master of Applied Linguistics degree has been designed to cover theoretical and methodological issues relevant to practitioners in a variety of professions whose work is concerned with applied language study. The degree is internationally relevant and focuses on the development of discourse analytic skills and understanding the complex relationship between language use, context and research in these areas.
This generalist specialisation is designed to allow you to study a broad range of topics within the area of applied linguistics. You will cover theoretical and methodological issues relevant to practitioners in a variety of professions whose work is concerned with applied language study.

Entry requirements
Bachelor degree or equivalent or Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics with a specialisation in General Applied Linguistics with a GPA of 3.0.
A minimum of two years full time or equivalent relevant professional experience. You will also be required to submit proof of work experience in the form of a letter, on your employer's letterhead stating length of time employed, whether full time or part time and nature of duties as well as a completed Supplementary Form.
English language requirements
If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.

Notes:
If you successfully complete the Master of Applied Linguistics and achieve a grade of CREDIT (GPA 3.0) or above in your program, you can apply for entry into the Postgraduate Certificate of Research Preparation (Human Sciences) to complete a dissertation.
