Master of Arts with a specialisation in Media, Law and Culture
View courses for International students.
Overview
Whatever your field of interest, from linguistics to philosophy, postgraduate study in Arts broadens the mind and helps you to branch out in the direction you want to grow. Students can begin with a single course, and work their way right up to a masters. Students obtain analytical and research skills valuable within professional environments, and can gain entry into the MPhil or PhD research programs.
This program enables graduates to examine in critical detail the nexus between media, law and culture by grounding the study of media in the context of the key laws and policies that shape media practice.
The program will enable students to develop an understanding of key laws, policies and legal issues that shape the media; develop skills on how to apply legal principles and policies in practical media scenarios; examine in a critical manner the sociocultural dimensions that shape media law; and acquire an understanding of the relation between regulatory systems, such as law, and media cultures in our information age.
