Overview

The Master of Commerce delivers a flexible, student-centred and relevant postgraduate business education in a range of disciplines. It is highly practical and designed to meet the career needs of graduates. The degree prepares graduates with capabilities for careers in the professions.

The Marketing specialisation will help develop marketing skills as they apply to a business or corporation with practical focus on the identification of forecast opportunities and threats in domestic and international industries; the development of marketing strategies, tactics and plans for such opportunities and threats; the ability to implement and monitor marketing strategies, tactics and plans and their effect on the organisation; and the consideration of new approaches and techniques in marketing.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a university degree equivalent in standing to a three-year Australian bachelor degree and should have gained a GPA of 2.70 or more (out of 4.00).

English language requirements

If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.

Our Expertise

Dr Chris Baumann

Chris is a Senior Lecturer in business and teaches brand management. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Aarhus School of Business at Aarhus University, an Adjunct Lecturer at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, a Visiting Fellow at Dunmore Lang College and an SFU Alumni Representative. For his teaching at Macquarie University, Baumann was awarded by the Vice-Chancellor for ‘Excellence in Education’ in 2005, and in 2007, he won a national-level Carrick citation. His research interests are customer loyalty, ethnicity, culture, ideology and consumer and employee behaviour, and employer branding.
