Profiles
Our Graduates
Jennie Marston
Jennie Marston is both a lecturer and a PhD student in the Faculty of Human Sciences at Macquarie University. Jennie was a primary teacher for nearly 20 years before embarking on her Master of Education by research on the perceptions of students and parents to the transition from primary to secondary education. She liked being able to complete the degree externally while both working full time and having three children at home.
Completion of the Master of Education allowed her to move into the tertiary field and share the knowledge, skills and expertise gained in the classroom with pre-service teachers. She now works in the Primary Education Program in the School of Education, where her area of particular interest is mathematics education. Jennie’s PhD investigates the role of picture books in developing mathematical concepts in young children.
