Overview
The Marine Science Program at Macquarie University, in partnership with Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS), the University of Technology Sydney, the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney has developed a new and innovative Masters program in Marine Science and Management. This interdisciplinary and cross-institutional program is unique in Australia. It has been designed to give students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge in a range of disciplines in marine science and management.
Students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to study at up to three of the four participating universities throughout the year. Students enrol at one of the partner universities where they complete six of eight subjects. Two of the remaining subjects can be chosen from a list of electives across all participating universities. To view subjects available from participating universities please visit their respective websites. The final core subject involves a seminar series at the newly built teaching facilities at SIMS and taught jointly by leading Australian and international marine scientists. The unit culminates in a research project taking advantage of the Australian Integrated Marine Observing System database.
