Overview

The Master of Politics and Public Policy is designed to develop an understanding of the structure and processes of policy formulation and implementation from an Australian perspective.

The units of the program are located within the context of political science.

  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of current developments in public policy including evidence-based policy, accountability, intergovernmental relations, policy transfer, politcial parties and public opinion.

The program is appropriate for those who see a future as practitioners in public, voluntary or political work.

It would also be of value for anyone in the private sector who works at the interface with the public sector, whether public service, the government or members of parliament in general.

It is also useful preparation for those who intend further study and research in political science.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements to commence this program is a bachelor degree from a recognised university with a major in politics, economics or one of the social sciences and/or appropriate work experience.
