Overview
This degree allows you to focus on specialised areas and includes the option of completing a research project in an area of interest. You will be able to develop your interest in special education and an appreciation for the dignity and rights of all people to learn, regardless of their physical or intellectual disabilities or other special needs.
A prior teaching qualification is not required unless you want to work as a special education teacher in schools.

Entry requirements
Bachelor degree or equivalent in a relevant professional discipline (see list below) or bachelor degree and relevant professional or personal experience.
Relevant Bachelor degrees include:
- Education
- Psychology
- Speech Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Nursing
- Medicine
- Social Work, and other related areas
Relevant professional experience includes Graduate Diploma or Post Graduate studies in same areas as above or a job that involved working with people with disabilities, other training in disability related areas (eg MULTILIT training).
Relevant personal experience includes being the carer, parent or sibling of a child with a disability.
English language requirements
If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.
