Overview

Teach primary school children. Become an open-minded and confident primary teacher who is responsive to academic needs.

By combining arts with primary education, you'll have over forty arts majors to choose from. You'll study teaching methodology, participate in a primary school based Professional Experience program and satisfy the Key Learning Area (KLA) content requirements of the NSW Institute of Teachers:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science and Technology
  • Human Society and its Environment (HSIE)
  • Creative arts and Personal Development
  • Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)

The main focus is on preparing you to work as a primary school teacher.

Marketing is about satisfying the wants and needs of customers.

The study of marketing allows you to understand how an organisation:

  • identifies and anticipates customers' needs
  • organises resources to satisfy those needs in a way that builds long-term, mutually rewarding relationships.

The marketing major looks at the evolution of marketing thought from production orientation to today. It covers:

  • gathering information on consumer needs and the marketing environment
  • tools the marketer uses to satisfy those needs - the marketing mix.
  • the latest marketing theories, with examples of best practice in Australia and major economies overseas.

I would definitely recommend Macquarie's Bachelor of Commerce - Marketing. The strong theoretical background, provided by the high quality academics, enables students to engage with and complete practical-based projects during our studies. Both of these components greatly assist in the preparation of students for an exciting career in marketing.

There are many opportunities to work alongside other aspiring marketers and students from different fields of study who offer alternate perspectives. This assists in increasing the individual's knowledge base, whilst forging strong networks for the future.

The sky's the limit at Macquarie!

Susan is currently working as Business Development Manager with MicroStrategy.
