Overview
Combine the problem solving and research skills from a law degree with the creative and communications skills of arts.
You'll study established legal studies areas such as constitutional law, international law, contract law and family law. You'll also look at areas of contemporary concern such as consumer law, environmental law, health law and information technology law.
You'll learn the role of law in society and explore ideas across disciplinary boundaries.
Modern Greek Studies provides:
- A sound knowledge of the Greek language and culture
- an understanding of the cultural diversity that defines Australia, by studying Greek literature and history.
Australian students with a connection to Greece can explore their heritage, and see how Greek migration contributed to the making of modern Australia.
As the language of the first philosophers, physicians and scientists, Greek has given a vast amount of terminology in artistic, medical, scientific and social disciplines.

Key features
- We encourage students to study in Greece, in a University-run residential course or under exchange agreements. You can study at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki or the University of Athens.
- Modern Greek studies was established at Macquarie University in 1988.
- Greek is very much in use in Australia today. New South Wales alone has three major Greek newspapers, three television stations and numerous radio networks.
