Overview

The study of Chinese at Macquarie is based on Mandarin. Classes range from absolute beginner to native speakers.

You’ll gain an understanding of the language as well as knowledge of the society, culture and history of China.

Ms Anita Chang

Amongst her many amazing credentials, Ms Anita Chang was the person who taught Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd Mandarin.


She has also convened classes such as Chinese Calligraphy and painting; Chinese Film; Chinese Martial Art Novel (Wuxia) and started the unit 'The History of Chinese Arts'.


She has also held the position of chairperson of Chinese HSC Examination Committee for Background Speakers and the President of Australian East Asian Arts and Culture Association.


Her publications, teaching and postgraduate supervision are mainly in the field of Chinese Literatures.
