Overview

With this major you will develop an understanding of the Italian language, and of the history, society and rich culture of Italy.

By studying Italian you will learn about a country with a remarkably rich cultural and artistic heritage, which has significantly influenced Western civilisation and continues to fascinate visitors today.

You can study Italian cinema, the Renaissance and Italian literature.  Italian refers via Latin to the roots of the English language, which gives insight to students of linguistics and English literature.

Australian students with a connection to Italy can explore their heritage and see how Italian migration contributed to the making of modern Australia.
