Overview

The Diploma of Ancient Languages is a 2 -3 year part-time program open to students eligible for admission to a degree program at Macquarie University or another approved institution. It requires 24 credit points to complete, a proportion of which must be at advanced level.

 

At least 12 credit points must be taken from one language.

 

The following languages are offered: Ancient Greek, Latin, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Classical Hebrew, Coptic, Akkadian.

Key features

The Diploma in Ancient Languages is a stand alone award for students who wish to study an ancient language wothout necessarily completing a coherent study program in Ancient History.

Suitable for

Students with an interest in ancient languages and are wishing to extend their studies either during or after completion of their Bachelor of Arts degree.

 

Students who wish to extend their current studies and take on teritary studies in an ancient language or those seeking research training, professional development or have a personal interest in the subjects.

Entry requirements

The Diploma in Ancient Languages is open to students eligible for admission to a degree program at Macquarie or another approved institution.

English language requirements

If you have completed the NSW HSC or equivalent you satisfy the English proficiency requirements.
